Initially founded in 1912 under the name Union des golfs de France, this organisation became the FFGOLF (Fédération Française de Golf) in 1933. In 1950, the federation included 44 courses and more than 4000 members. In 1960, the federation included 79 courses and more than 11500 members. The "green card" was created in 1990 to make courses accessible to those who know the rules of golf. That year, the number of members reached 181,147! Today, the federation has more than 420,000 members. This number should continue to grow as the 2018 Ryder Cup approaches!
